The most important piece of gear for scuba is the tank. Without it we would have no air for the dive. Tanks come in all different sizes, colors, and materials. Always keep your tanks in hydro and vis.

Having learned to dive late in life I made up for it in my first year by clocking up 120+ open water dives in places from the UK to Australia.
